Dryer Section Performance Monitoring

Dryer section performance has a major effect on production rates, energy efficiency, and sheet quality. Regular performance monitoring can help trend the machine performance ensure that dryer section operation is optimized and can direct maintenance and troubleshooting efforts before minor problems become major problems. Monitoring can be done by mill operations, technical, engineering or maintenance personnel; clothing and equipment suppliers; corporate technical groups; and/or independent consultants. Note TIP 0404-33 does not cover Yankee dryers.
