If you are new to the Human Resources field, if you are changing careers and entering into the exciting world of HR or if you are currently in an HR role, your answer to the following questions should be ‘Yes’.

Do you know what you are expected to do to maintain compliance with all the employment laws such as FMLA, ADA, PDA, USERRA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, EPA, ADEA, IRCA, NLRA, DFWA, GINA how to deal with cases of sexual harassment, discrimination, FMLA requests, ADA and Religious accommodation requests? Are you familiar with the Older Workers Benefit Protection Act, with the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, do you know who Peggy Young is? Do you know how long you retain I-9 forms for inactive employees, how long you retain personnel records after employees leave the company, what steps to take during an employee’s termination process to avoid a wrongful discharge lawsuit, how to properly handle suicidal comments in the workplace, how to address hygiene issues with employees or how to manage an inclusive workplace with employees with physical and cognitive disabilities? It was so helpful to have one on one access to a knowledge source. I had lots of questions and Elga was able to answer them all. Elga is a jewel; I really enjoyed meeting and learning from her.

Elga is a very good instructor – kept us engaged and she provided a comfortable setting for class participants and questions.

Elga was so good and knowledgeable. I look forward to more training with her. I have also recommended my assistant to take a course with Elga. She is the best.

My favorite part of the training was Elga Lejarza. She made the course so interesting and her knowledge was just above what I expected.

As always, I enjoyed the trainer. Elga Lejarza does an excellent job with the training she provides. She is very in-depth with training and offers a lot of real word examples. This was the second training I have attended with Ms. Lejarza.

Elga was wonderful! I really enjoyed her class and I feel that I learned valuable information. Her on the job examples made the material interesting and allowed me to apply it to my own position.

Elga was awesome. She made the training easy to understand; provided lots of examples which were very helpful; and definitely made it very comfortable for all participants to provide input and ask questions. It is one of the best trainings I have gone to.

Elga is a great presenter. She is very knowledgeable and really kept each day interesting!

I needed examples and scenarios and Elga provided both. She answered every question I asked and she even stayed after the class to give me and the others a more detailed view on the FMLA/ADA process.

Elga is extremely knowledgeable and communicates very well. She gives examples from her vast experience which makes learning so much easier if you can apply to a real life situation.

    Elga is an amazing trainer/presenter.

Elga was knowledgeable and welcomed questions, great training!

Thank you for all the information I received from you last week. The training was two days filled with information and real-life experiences. I hope to attend another training soon!

    Falls Park on the Reedy

    Falls Park on the Reedy

Falls Park on the Reedy is a 32-acre park adjacent to downtown Greenville, South Carolina in the historic West End district. Considered the birthplace of Greenville, the park was founded in 1967 when the Carolina Foothills Garden Club reclaimed 26 acres of land that had been previously used by textile mills. Renovation accelerated in the late 1990s under Mayor Knox H. White, prompting the formation of the Falls Park Endowment, a private charity supporting ongoing development. Each summer the park is home to the Upstate Shakespeare Festival. The park's most striking feature is a unique pedestrian bridge that curves around a waterfall on the Reedy River. Named the Liberty Bridge at Falls Park on the Reedy, the 355-foot long suspension bridge is supported by cables on only one side, giving an unobstructed view of the falls.

William Melton Halsey, an abstract painter from Charleston, had a mid-career retrospective at the museum in 1972 with an accompanying catalog by Jack A. Morris Jr. In 1999 Tom Styron, director, curated another solo exhibition of Halsey's work.
