This webinar will provide you with a High-level review of the Official Guidelines for ICD-10-PCS Coding and Reporting FY2022 which includes revisions to guidelines: B3.7 Control vs. more definitive root operations, and B4.1c Continuous section of tubular body part.
During this program, the presenter will cover many of the new codes for the hospital inpatient Procedure Coding System (PCS). For FY2022 there are 191 new codes, 62 revised titles, and 107 deleted codes, this makes the total number of PCS codes come to 78,220. These 2022 ICD-10-PCS codes are to be used for discharges occurring from October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022.
New PCS codes for the introduction or infusion of therapeutics for treatment will be presented.
Changes include Body parts “Dorsal root ganglion” was added to the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and spinal cord values. Fibular sesamoid and Tibial sesamoid were added to the metatarsal body parts.
Additions to PCS tables for FY2022 include several new codes for Qualifier “7-Orbital Atherectomy” was added to “coronary artery, one, two, three, four or more” body parts under root operation Extirpation to allow removal of clots in these arteries with this device. “Coronary artery, one, two, three, four or more” and also “Intracranial artery” body parts have been added to root operation Fragmentation to allow for the coding of coronary intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) in treating calcified lesions.
