He received his J.D. degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, in 1982 and his B.A., History and Rhetoric, from the University of California, Davis, in 1974. Mr. Kato is a member of: the State Bar of California since 1982; the U.S. Supreme Court, the federal Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and various federal district courts in California and Arizona.
