	- The intent of this document is to provide a guideline that may be used to increase the Maximum Allowable Working Pressure (MAWP) rating of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) certified paper machine dryers. This process is defined as “re-rating” In the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC).
 - The justification to re-rate a paper machine dryer is to increase the steam pressure and thereby provide more thermal energy to dry the web in the dryer section of the paper machine.
 - These guidelines can be used to determine the necessary jurisdictional and insurance provider acceptance, which is required to re-rate a pressure vessel.
 - This guideline does not address a paper machine dryer that was not originally certified to the ASME Pressure Vessel Code at the time it was manufactured.

It Provides information on:
- Obtain documentation.
 - Obtain authorization for re-rating.
 - Perform required inspections and tests.
 - Stamping of dryer with new operating pressure.
 - Documentation of re-rating.

It Benefits:
- Mechanical Engineer.
 - Researchers.
 - Laboratory Personal.
 - Analyst.
